What to expect.

Our programs are nature immersion at its very finest. We will meander along rivers and hop scotch our way from lake to lake. Our trips will mostly be accompanied by goats, whom will be packing in some of our supplies.

We will incorporate mindfulness exercises throughout the day that will arise in many different forms. Sit spots, meditation, yoga, qi gong. Participants will learn a myriad of skills that include but are not limited to

nature connection cooking with fire

meditation leave no trace backpacking

sit spots animal wifery and milking goats

tracking basics of shepherding

The food on the trip is simple but nutritious, focused to be fuel for our journey physically and mentally.  We will teach participants how to cook over fire whenever possible, foraging to add our meals when we may.

Little or no backpacking experience is the best place to start, yet those who are experienced in backpacking are also very welcomed.

Model Trip Itinerary

Day 1: We will meet at a disclosed location proximal to the Bay Area. Here we will depart as a group by vans to a trailhead. Depending on timing we will either camp at the trailhead or hike in to our first location

Day 2-5: This time will be spent backpacking throughout the selected wilderness area. In this time we will walk anywhere from 4-10 miles per day, more information about these specific days will be accustomed to said trip. During this time we will have ample opportunity to teach various wilderness skills as listed above, solo time, and natural history.

Day 6: On this day we will begin the return phase of our journey, likely ending up at the trailhead by the afternoon, or near it. Sometimes we may drive halfway from the wilderness area to our initial departure location. Some of our journeys are aptly near hot springs or other features of nature that are worth exploring

Day 7: On this day we will return to our initial location of departure hopefully by no later than noon. Again this detail is contingent upon the specific trip.
